New Senior Client Relationship Manager, January 1, 2013. Optcapital is pleased to announce that Miles Simpson was promoted to Senior Client Relationship Manager. Miles joined the company in 2002 and is responsible for managing client relationships and overseeing the implementation of new plans. He also serves as liaison between business development and client services. Prior to Optcapital, Miles worked as a financial advisor representing Northwestern Mutual. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a double major in Economics and Management and Society. Miles holds his Series 6, 7, 63 and 99 securities licenses.

New CFO, January 1, 2013. Optcapital is pleased to announce that Can (Jon) Civi was promoted to Chief Financial Officer. Can (pronounced "Jon") joined the company in 2009. He is responsible for financial and accounting functions. He graduated from Davidson College with a degree in Economics. In 2012, he completed all three levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, passing each exam on the first attempt. He also holds his Series 7 license . Can grew up in Istanbul, Turkey.

New Director of Marketing, January 1, 2013. Optcapital is pleased to announce that Kathy Segodnia was promoted to Director of Marketing. Kathy joined the company in 2009.  She is responsible for marketing, branding and public relations.  Prior to Optcapital, Kathy was self-employed for 4 years as a marketing, public relations and special events consultant.  She also has experience as an Employee Benefits Specialist, tennis tournament director, and employee benefits and tax paralegal.  Kathy earned her undergraduate degree from Michigan State University.

New Managing Director – Alternative Investment Markets, January 1, 2013. The company is pleased to announce that Thom Young has re-joined the company after a brief hiatus. As Managing Director – Alternative Investment Markets, Thom is focused on helping institutional investors and managers of hedge funds and private equity align their long-term interests using FAR® Funds. He joined the company in 2006. Prior to Optcapital, he co-founded and managed Cambium Capital Management, a hedge fund that applied a conservative Jones model consisting of US equity long/short positions. Cambium was launched as a low volatility fund targeting large institutional investors. It attracted an experienced staff, built a scalable infrastructure and developed proprietary risk analytics. Before Cambium, he worked as a Managing Director of Deutsche Bank in New York and Atlanta. Thom earned his MBA from the University of Virginia and his undergraduate degree from Davidson College.

New Managing Director – Sales and Marketing, March 1, 2013. The company is pleased to announce that David Yearwood joined the company as Managing Director – Sales and Marketing. David has thirty years of client facing experience in the global asset management industry. Prior to joining Optcapital, David was Senior Vice President at Putnam Investments in their Global Institutional Group. David has also had sales, marketing and strategic distribution roles at Fidelity Investments in Boston, Goldman Sachs Asset Management in New York and Diversified Global Asset Management (DGAM) in Toronto and New York. David is focused on introducing institutional investors to Breton Hill Capital based in Toronto, an asset manager focused on tactical investing in liquid markets. Breton Hill’s founding team had worked together for 7+ years, and were previously part of the 2004 launch of a multi-billion dollar alternatives investment manager that was ranked by Towers Watson and Financial Times as a top 20 hedge fund provider to pension investors. He will also help investors and hedge fund managers align their long-term interests using FAR® Funds.
