We have a diverse client base, including Fortune 1000 companies, private companies, tax-exempt organizations, hedge funds, law firms and partners. We tend to retain our clients for the life of the incentive compensation program, which typically lasts many years. To date, the average tenure of our clients is 8 years and increasing.
We started serving law firms in 2002. The firm had represented a State in the multi-state litigation against the tobacco companies, and wanted to convert its fee stream into a lump sum deferred compensation account that allowed it to control the investments. From 2005 through 2010 we waited for the law to clarify. In 2012 we launched the CaR® Trust for law firms and their partners, a plan that is compliant with all applicable new laws, including Section 409A and Dodd Frank.
Our first investment fund joined us in 2007. Our investment fund clients include two of the largest ten in the world. After the enactment of Code Section 457A, we developed the Fund Alignment Right (FAR®) program. It enables institutional investors to align managers over the life of the investment by sharing terminal, cumulative pre-tax, tax-deferred profits.

Our first client was Wachovia Bank in 1998. From 1998 through 2004 we designed and implemented plans for Fortune 1000 companies and large healthcare systems.
