How much can I borrow?

Optcapital underwrites its loans on a case-by-case basis. Generally, we lend up to 50% against marketable securities and up to 90% against US Treasuries. The amount you can borrow depends in part on how your deferral account is invested.

What is the interest rate?

Interest rates are different for each client, depending on the amount of the loan and individual risk factors.  Interest rates are typically competitive with bank loans, and significantly less than case financing.

What are the repayment terms?

The loans are structured as a Line of Credit, which allows you to borrow and repay at will.  You will be billed for interest monthly, but there are no scheduled principal payments.

Must I open a Line of Credit?

No – in fact, only about 20% of our clients borrow.

Can I prepay at any time?

Yes.  There is no penalty for pre-payment.

How long does it take to establish a Line of Credit?

We can generally get a Line of Credit in place within one week.

Does the Line of Credit expire?

Yes. The Line of Credit expires and is eligible for renewal annually.
